Hi all!
It’s Fall, and the weather is finally starting to cool off here in AZ; but that doesn’t mean we can’t maintain our fun Summer styles! Beachy waves are fun all year round, and are a well-loved style by celebrities and women around the world. But, how do we achieve this glamorous look? Well, my friends, we have several easy techniques just for you! This week, let’s talk about 5 different ways you can give yourself beautiful, beachy waves!
1.- The Wand and the Ponytail!
This is by FAR my favorite way to achieve this look. Step 1: Pull your hair back into a ponytail. Step 2: Split your ponytail into two sections, and curl them! Step 3: Let your hair down, and enjoy the curls!
Check out this video tutorial by Vivian V! She gathers several smaller sections of her ponytail and curls them one at a time, but two big sections should work just as well.
2.- The Low Maintenance Air-Dry!
Who else is all about the low maintenance hair routine??? If that’s you, this method is for you! Step 1: Fresh out of the shower, towel dry your hair a bit and then pull it back into two loose buns at the base of your neck. Step 2: Pin the buns, and wait for your hair to dry! Step 3: Look FABULOUS. In the video below, the stylist is demonstrating a way to get waves overnight using the buns, but you could do this directly after showering as well.
3.- The Flat Iron Twist!
This is, in my opinion, one of the faster ways to achieve the beachy wave look. All you need is a flat iron, and your luscious locks! Step 1: Separate your hair into at least two sections. Step 2: Twist one section tightly, and run your flat iron over top of the twist. Step 3: Repeat step 2 on your other sections, and you’re done! You may also want to use a Sea Salt Spray for added texture and hold, and a heat protectant. (Here’s our favorite salt spray!)
4.- The Short Hair Beach Waves!
For us short hair girls, curling our hair or trying to achieve wavy looks can be really difficult. In the video below by somegirljess, a 1-inch curling iron is used to create effortless waves! This is made a lot easier with a curling iron that has a clamp. Check out this video for the steps! The results are a piecy, messy look that’s to die for!
5.- The Flat Iron as a Curling Iron!
Last but not least, our last method for beachy waves is using the flat iron, again! This time, we can use the flat iron kind of like a curling iron to get loose waves as opposed to tight curls. ALWAYS use a heat protectant when using hot tools! (This includes blow dryers, ladies!) If you like to style your hair everyday, or almost everyday, it’s imperative that you prevent as much damaged to your hair as possible. Check out below for the steps to this fabulous, easy way to get beachy waves! (Here’s our favorite heat protectant!)
