Women everywhere go out of their way to defy their hair’s natural texture every day. Armed with hair brushes, hot tools, and products, we boldly attempt to make our hair as beautiful as possible. This is all well and good, but what if I told you that you could have OUTSTANDING hair without forcing your hair to be something its not?
Today we’ll walk through the three most common hair textures, and things you can do to embrace your natural texture! This includes products, and easy ways to style your hair in it’s natural state. Enjoy!
Straight Hair
Thanks to Kim K and her incredibly long extensions, super straight air is in! Luckily, for those of us that have straight hair, your strands air dry looking like you used a flat iron.
To keep your hair from lacking volume, try using a volumizing shampoo, like Volu from Davines, and then apply a little bit of Volume Boosting Mousse to your roots and let your hair air dry. If you’d like to add some shine, finish up with a Shimmering Mist! (It smells amazing, by the way.)
Wavy Hair
Naturally wavy locks and be a bit hard to style, but all you need is the right set of products, and some technique tips! An easy look for naturally wavy girls is beachy waves! (Check out our post on beach waves here!)
All you have to do is take advantage of your texture. Start by using a nourishing shampoo and conditioner, and then apply a Sea Salt Spray to your damp hair to add a bit of texture or grit. Then, try twisting your hair into two separate buns, twisting away from your face. Finally, batten down those buns with pins or hair ties, and let your hair air dry that way!
Take down the buns, and you’ve got model-level gorgeous wavy hair. BOOM!
Curly Hair
Keep those curls bouncy, shiny, and soft with a shampoo specially formulated for curly hair like Love Curl Shampoo and Conditioner from Davines!
We also recommend that you use a mask like the Love Curl Mask once a week to prevent dryness. (Leave the deep conditioner in your hair for 10-15 minutes and then rinse! Use a microfiber towel to dry your hair for the best result.) You can also use the Love Curl Cream or the Curl Moisturizing Mousse to help give definition to your curls, and lightly scrunch and let your hair air dry!
