August is finally here, which means it’s back-to-school season! For most parents, this probably means some super early mornings as well as some late nights. Here at TouchUps, we know that time is the most precious commodity. We also know it’s twice as precious when you have a family to get out the door in the morning! To help keep you and your family on top of your game, we wanted to make a short list of easy, stylish hairstyles that your daughters will love, and so will you!
So, we know that most kids don’t particularly enjoy having their hair done. (Or doing anything but play!) Whether your kids feel this way, or they enjoy getting styled, we want to make styling hair in the morning easy on everyone! Moms, you can rock these looks too, so feel free to make some mommy-daughter time out of it!
Without further ado, let’s tackle these 5 easy back-to-school hairstyles for girls of all ages!
Bomb Back-To-School Looks
The Half-Up French Braid:
This first hairstyle is perfect for keeping hair out of the face for maximum playground enjoyment! Although this french braid looks complicated, it’s actually super simple:
Start your French braid like you normally would with three sections of hair at your hairline, then work your way down your head, slowly adding more hair to your sections. For this half-up look, stop adding additional sections of hair when you get to ear-level, then tie it up with a hair tie!
Cute Headbands:
Ah, the easiest hairstyle of them all; adding accessories! Never underestimate the power of an adorable headband, ya’ll. Hair accessories are great for tying an outfit together as well as spicing up your hair style! There are lots of fabric and style options for your headbands too.
To try out this look, simply slide on the headband of your choice! You can wear it with the front section of your hair pinned back by the headband, or you can leave the front loose like in the picture above!
Bows and Fancy Hair Ties:
That’s right guys, more accessories! An easy hair style to try for both mommy and her mini-me is to simply add a pretty bow to your hairstyles. To add a bow to a simple down hairstyle, pull two sections just above the ear on either side of your head back, tie the sections together with a small hair tie, and then clip the bow in just above the tie!
You can also add a beautiful hair pin or bow to a ponytail for added flare! If you’re a fan of hair ribbons, you can also add a bit of color to your style by tying the ribbon around your hair tie, or around a bun as well!
A Simple Twist:
Do you or your girl(s) have thick, medium length to long hair? This is a simple, super elegant look that every long-haired lady can try!
The easiest way to form a bun like this one is to pull your hair into a ponytail at the nape of your neck, tie it, and then twist your hair around the ponytail. After twisting, secure your bun in place with bobby pins or a hair accessory, then give it a spritz or two of hairspray and you’re good to go!
The Spruced-Up Ponytail:
Another go-to look for Mom and her mini-me is an easy ponytail with a little bit of flare! If you want to get the most volume out of this style, try it with second day dirty hair or add some dry shampoo to your roots and fluff them up a little bit. There are so many options when it comes to sprucing up your ponytail, so feel free to play around!
To add a little something to your ponytail, you can braid it after tying your hair back like in the photo above, and then gently pull on sections of the braid to get this messy effect! You can also try lightly curling your ponytails, or sleeping in a braid the night before to get a beach wave effect.
